Android / OpenGL ES developer

We’re looking for several team members to work on our Augmented Reality navigation application for aircraft pilots on Head-Mounted Displays (aka smart glasses). It can’t really get cooler than that.

What we’re looking for:

  • an open mind
  • passion
  • knowledge of the Java language & development environment
  • knowledge of the Android platform as a development platform
  • knowledge of 3D graphics in general and OpenGL ES 2.0 in particular
  • knowledge of 3D coordinate system representations using quaternions
  • ability to parse data formats, communication protocols
  • knowledge of agile development methods
  • knowledge & appreciation of automated validation & testing
  • knowledge of version control systems, git in particular
  • working knowledge of the English language
  • living in or willing to move to Budapest, Hungary
  • ability to work autonomously & also in a team
  • a focus on details & quality

The following improve the candidates’ chances to be part of our team:

  • knowledge of Virtual Globe frameworks, such as glob3mobile
  • knowledge of the nature of geo-referenced data
  • knowledge of spatial indexes, such as R*-tree
  • knowledge of aviation related data standards such as ARINC-424, AIXM, GDL-90, etc.
  • experience with creating custom UI / HUD
  • experience / creation of custom 3D rendering pipelines / engines
  • generic interest or knowledge of aviation
